God Bless

As weathered hands in candle light

Do fumble finding fountain pens

Though not a drop of liquor is spilled, then refreshed

–

And rolling tires remind my ringing ears

Of their constant…

That they hiss in the rain

–

My windows allow in much more than fog

Blasting salsa, gunshots and groans

Dawn, breezes, bell tower’s moans

–

And thunder, pounding, thunder

Though the rain on the rooftop, will never fill this glass

And I no longer want it to…

–

Drips are as torrents

In the desert…

And I owe those mists my life

–

Winged the effect of butterflies

Of grains falling in an hour glass

What folly, we see in our eyes as more

–

Though I could tell you of more

If I could yet speak of such

And if my lips could kiss your mind with stars

–

You would still be as I see you

Curled in pillows of cat fur and moonlight

Purrrloining the facts of books

–

It’s in the stillness of the tails we share

The paws in the eye of the storm dancing

The Chi in the meow of chaos

–

For Cloistered BBQ’ed Shrimps

And this Tapestry of Jalapeno Sighs

For Illuminating My Pineapple Pizzas…
